For those who have been writing SEO (search engine optimization) for so long, it may sometimes be difficult to find new topics about SEO and it seems that you have run out of things to say. Today I will get back to talk about several basics of SEO again. As search engine optimization is the foundation of online success, a few things listed below need to be pay attention to.
Get to be indexed first
Make sure your pages have been indexed first so that search engines can find you, then there will be a great chance of being ranked for your targeted keywords. Meantime, your links on the entire site must be properly navigable, your content must be readable, and all of these things serve for a search engine friendly website.
Ranking is not everything
Actually ranking is not what we want SEO for, but it is really an important part of SEO. Many people think that a Top 1 ranking can bring a lot of business, while I don’t think so. Rankings don’t make sales while they just provide a way in the door, and those that come in at #1 may not be as ready to buy as those that come in at #6.
Traffic is not the ulimate goal
Your visitors count rise once you start getting rankings even for low-volume but important keywords. Again, this is also not the ultimate goal you’re trying to achieve unless you get paid on a cost per impression basis.
The final goal: Conversions
A conversion can be anything you want it to be: a comment on your blog, a download of a white paper, a follow on twitter, or a purchase of a product. It is be-all purpose of search engine optimization which is more than just helping you get rankings and drive traffic to your site.
