Use Targeted Anchor Text

Don’t use the same anchor text everywhere, you need to use two or three different words or phrases to target each different web pages. Image link is not recommended, but if that do mae sure that the keywords or key phrases should appear in the Alt tag of the image.

Check Links In And Out

Make sure the link-placed web site does not have a lot of low-quality outbound links especially those spam links, which could lead Google to consider your web site as one of them and not give your site a deserved height. So stay away from the spam sites and choose the high-quality ones to put your links.

High PR Isn’t Everything

PageRank is not the only things you should consider to do link building. A site with high PR can still have low link value if there are so many outbound links on the site. Stay away from the sites which is built to sell links and will put your link under a “Sponsored links” or “Paid links” section. They are not worth your time as Google may not let that site pass PageRank at all.

Site Relevance Should be Concentrated On

Make sure your anchor text is relevant to your web site especially the landing page, and your landing page is relevant to link-placed site. Link relevance is an important part when Google index your web site and give out the site weight.

Link building process should be well thought. Not all the sites are worth to get links from. Links from bad sites will most likely hurt the website’s reputation.

It’s important to have the keywords in the anchor text when building links. And it’s more important to vary the anchor text from link to link. Firstly, this helps rank the website for different keyword phrases and secondly, this will make the links look natural in the “eyes” of search engines. Better if you vary your anchor text in a 60%/30%/10% manner: if 60% of your link titles contain your primary keywords, 30% contain your secondary set of keywords and 10% a third set of keywords.
