Black Hat Techniques

The so-called black hat techniques derived from the excessive propaganda for websites in the early search engine time. Today, black hat techniques are no longer popular. That is not to say they can’t work any more but easily get the website punished and even blocked by using some unacceptable techniques. There are still some SEOers who are tring to improve the black hat techniques so as to achieve good rankings, thereby increasing the traffic and the website conversion rate in a very short time. However, compared with the white hat techniques, black hat techniques are not highly regarded as of its high risk. Black hat techniques include:

1. Keyword stuffing
Keyword stuffing not only refers to the extensive use of keywords in the article but also in the page title, meta tags and anchor text. Keyword stuffing in Meta Keywords have been no longer useful in fact. Because of the early excessive abuse of keyword stuffing, search engines, like Google and Yahoo!, have improved the search algorythm to identify this kind of cheat. On the contrary, the Meta Description tag is getting more and more attention, you can add your keywords here, but it should also be paid attention to maintain a reasonable keyword density.

2. Buy Links
Links of high PR are always considered helpful for getting a good ranking, so people tends to buy links and the websites offering links purchase services are getting more and more popular. Do you know these kind of links can be easily identified as the spam links. Do remember that high-quality ,high-relevcancy and most important natural backlinks are much better than a large numbers of loe-quality backlinks which you may not know where they come from and whether they are spam or not.  You can try some lawful means to win backlinks, such as, article submission, directory submission, forum posting, blog comments and so on.

3. Articles plagiarism
SEO is always pursuiting originality, high-quality and high-value. The so-called pseudo-original may also work in the past, but now they would be considered to be one of the means for cheating. This requires that Web site editors need to have a keen topic, good writing techniques and a solid professional basis.  Adhering to original article is the essence of SEO.

4. Domain Name Redirection
Redirected domain name is not absolutely bad, because it can be considered as Doorway Pages (doorway pages are not only to deceive the user, but also to deceive the search engine), so once they are identified by search engine, the incoming punishment is very serious.

5. A cover-up of words or links
By adding identification technology into the website, the same page can be presented as two different versions respectively to search engines and users. If the situation was found by search engines, the consequences are quite serious cause it may be considered as the keyword stuffing to cheat search engines.

6. Hidden text and links
This one is similar to a cover-up of words or links, it refers to the technical means through a number of hidden text and links. The users can not see, but the search engines can. Once checked, punishment is also coming.

7. Blog software, the abuse of mass
Some people use blog software to leave backlinks over a large number of blogs automatically so as to achieve more backlinks, but the search engines perfected the recognition mechanisms to identify can be a very prospective. Once found, your site could not escape the fate of punishment. This is also the reson why major sites are now using manual blog comments, so that would be more natural.

Do not optimize for optimization, insist on legitimate white hat techniques, and stay away from all the black hat techniques.
