Trend of search engine marketing 2010

SEO (search engine optimization), paid search (such as Google Adwards) and social media marketing are three main marketing methods that marketers usually apply to promote their online businesses.

A recent statistics revealed that 97% companies advertise on Google while 50% on Yahoo! Search and 44% on Microsoft Live Search (MSN) in 2009. About 56% advertisers complained that Google Adwards has become more expensive than before and the situation seems to be more and more tougher, while only 32% complained about Yahoo! and 29% compalined about Bing.

It is estimated that in 2010 companies will spend 43% more on SEO (search engine optimization) and 37% on paid search than in 2009. About 49% companies expressed that they will cut down the spend on print advertising, while 36% will save money from direct mail marketing, web display advertising, conferences and exhibitions.
